POSITIVE IMPACT Media Alliance (PIMA)
is a nonprofit community-based organization that leverages its extensive expertise in: Content & Media Production, Brand Development & Marketing Communications, and Channel Distribution. Helping our Community Partners to tell their stories about the positive impacts they each make in the communities they serve is why we do what we do! Here is a short list of some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs):
What is a PIMA Media Partnership?
A PIMA media partnership happens when your organization requests that we provide one or more of our media services to help tell its story.
Who all makes up a PIMA Media Partnership?
PIMA is the Media Partner, Your Organization is the Nonprofit | Agency Partner, and Corporate Partner Sponsors make it happen.
How does a PIMA Media Partnership Work?
Corporate Partnerships play a vital role in the success of PIMA fulfilling its mission of becoming the nonprofit community’s media partner. They’re are 5-levels of Corporate Partner Sponsorships:
- Diamond: 100%
- Platinum: 80% | 20% split
- Gold: 70% | 30% split
- Silver: 60% | 40% split
- Bronze: 50% | 50% split
The Corporate Partner Sponsor (CPS) covers the greater % of Production Costs associated with each sponsorship level.
- The Nonprofit Media Partner (NPMP) covers the lesser % of the production costs associated with each sponsorship level.
- PIMA, as the Media Partner, may choose (at its own discretion) to cover the lesser % of the production costs associated with each sponsorship level.
What is a Tier Production Rate Discount?
PIMA offers 5-Tiers of Production Rate Discounts (based on the Nonprofit’s operations | marketing budgets) that can be matrixed using the 5-levels of Corporate Partner Sponsorships (Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze) to help provide a Nonprofit Media Partner | Corporate Partner Sponsorship that can fit any community partner’s budget.
- Tier 1 Production Rate Discount: 20%
- Tier 2 Production Rate Discount: 30%
- Tier 3 Production Rate Discount: 40%
- Tier 4 Production Rate Discount: 50%
- Tier 5 Production Rate Discount: 60%
ALL Tier Production Rate Discounts are applied before Corporate Partner Sponsorship levels are determined.
Is a PIMA Production Rate Card available that lists the types of services that are provided and the associated costs?
Yes, it is available upon request and services can be customized to meet the organization’s media needs and to fit any operational | media marketing communications budget.
What are some of the available services that a PIMA Media Partnership covers?
Studio Production Packages: Package A; Package B; and Package C (All packages include a production team and equipment to facilitate all production)
Studio Space Rental: 4-hour block (No production personnel or equipment included)
Pre-Production: Pre-production fees may be incurred for extensive work on a project. Pre-production can include: script writing, revisions, storyboarding, shot lists, call sheets, research, etc.
Location Video Production Shoot: (Does not include post-production editing)

- 1 crew member | 4-hours
- 1 crew member | 8-hours
- 2 crew members | 2-hours
- 2 crew members | 4-hours
- 2 crew members | 8-hours
- 3 crew members | 2-hours

Video Editing Suite Rental: (Off-line Editing is when all of the original footage [often tens or hundreds of hours] is digitized into the suite at a low non-Broadcast resolution with a Timecode window. The editor and director are then free to work with all of the options (color correction, transitions, effects, graphics, and music) to create an EDL [Edit Decision List] for the final Broadcast Master cut). Available Options:
- Off-line Video Editing w/o operator
- On-line Video Editing w/o operator
Post-Production: Post-Production fees include: video editing, graphics, titles, FX, audio mixing, color correction, finalizing, exporting, etc.
Dubs: Over 30 dubs – outsourced to production partner
- Basic Dubs | VHS to DVD
- DVD Copy
- DVD packaging and titles can be added for an additional fee
Multi-Function Room: Includes VHS, DVD, Computer, and Internet Access
- Multi-Media Room
- Satellite Downlink Site
*Authoring is the process of combining materials such as video, graphics, sound, animation, documents, and files into a format suitable for viewing on the appropriate device. Such devices include but are not limited to: DVD players and computers, and internet browsers. Often times this requires the creation of an interface, allowing the user to navigate and access the different assets or files easily and conveniently. In the case of DVDs, this interface consists of a menu or menus with play and chapter (scene buttons).
